Solar Power Plant | Solar Panel | How does a solar panel work | Solar Power plant working | Full Detail

In this article, we all learn together and I promise all the information is easy to understand.

  1. What are solar panels and what types of panels?
  2. what is a solar power plant?
  3. How solar power plant works?
  4. Advantages and disadvantages of solar power plants?

Solar cells :

These cells are made with silicon material or solar cells mainly contain a p-n junction, any device that directly converts the energy of light into electrical energy through the Photovoltaic effect. When solar cells are arranged in a large grouping called an array.

Solar Panel :

👉 Panel is made of a combination of the photovoltaic cell. This means the solar cell is the basic unit of any solar panel when solar cells are arranged vertically or horizontally combined in a rectangle shape then that construction is called solar panel.

Types of solar panels : ( Basic info to know about market panels )

Monocrystalline solar panels.

panels comprise monocrystalline solar cells in this case. They contain 40 monocrystalline cells and the cells are made out of pure silicon. Monocrystalline cells appear black due to the interaction between sunlight and pure silicon.

Polycrystalline solar panels.

These panels are the most popular among the three types of solar panels. Fragments of silicon crystals are melted and then cut into wafers to make these. The surface of polycrystalline panels looks like a mosaic and is square. The surface has a bluish tone as the panels are made up of several crystals of silicon.

Thin-film (amorphous) solar panels

thin-film panels are almost 350 times thinner than those that use silicon wafers. Another distinguishing feature of thin-film panels is that they are made of a variety of materials. For instance, a thin-film panel can be made from cadmium telluride, amorphous silicon, or Copper Indium Gallium Selenide.

How Does Solar Power Plant work:

Solar Power station or solar parks always contains 4 parts for properly working :

1. Solar Panels :

Mainly flat plate collector to collect or absorb the solar radiation in it used mostly. flat plate collector only has one thing that is the principle of the p-n junction, because it is made up of silicon material and glasses to protect it from dust and pollution.

2. Inverter :

An inverter is a device that converts Dc into Ac because from solar cell combination we only get direct current as output but for house power need and using that our need we have to convert it into AC ( Alternating current ). An inverter can do this thing very effectively.

1 solar cell = 0.5 volts
36 solar cell = 18.0 volts ( solar panel ) But DC .

3. Grid or Power station :

When inverter change dc from solar panel to ac, For optimizing it efficiently it will direct all the electricity to the grid or power station for a step up the voltage for wide-area power uses. Solar parks are an example of this type of power generation.

4. Battery :

As you know if a human required only two bread pieces but he has 5 pieces of bread total so he eats 2 bread for now and saves 3 pieces of bread for future needs. So that If we installed solar power in-home so we need a Battery storage system because solar does not work at night so one system to capture the solar energy in the morning and utilizes energy at the night will need a battery storage system. ( lithium-ion battery )

Advantages of solar power plants:
  1. Reduced dependence on foreign oil and fossil fuels
  2. Renewable clean power that is available every day of the year, even cloudy days produce some power
  3. Return on investment unlike paying for utility bills
  4. Virtually no maintenance as solar panels last over 30 years
  5. Creates jobs by employing solar panel manufacturers, solar installers, etc. and in turn helps the economy
  6. Solar can be used to heat water, power homes and buildings, even power cars.
  7. Solar is pollution-free and abundant in the environment.
Disadvantages of solar power plants:
  1. Needs lots of space as efficiency is not 100% yet
  2. No solar power at night so there is a need for a large battery bank
  3. The initial cost to build large solar power parks is very costly.
  4. Devices that run on DC power directly are more expensive.
  5. Solar parks capture lots of area land.
  6. if water is not good ( means cloudy ) so solar does not work properly

Some Facts about solar power plant

1. Bhadla Solar Park with a total installed capacity of 2,245 MW, is the biggest plant in the world as of March 2020. The only tower-type solar thermal power plant (2.5 MW) in India is located in the Bikaner district.

2. India has established nearly 42 solar parks to make land available to the promoters of solar plants.

3. Solar power in India is a fast developing industry as part of the renewable energy in India. The country's solar installed capacity was 48.556 GW as of 30 November 2022.

Faraday's Law of electromagnetic induction | Lenz's law | Law of electromagnetic induction

Faradays Law of  Electromagnetic Induction : Faraday's laws state that an emf is induced in a circuit which is (i) Directly proportional to the time rate of change of flux enclosed by the circuit. (ii) Directly proportional to N the no. of turns of the circuit. Combining, the two laws, Faraday's laws of induction can be expressed mathematically as Here negative sign is due to Emil Lenz, who after Faraday's experiments suggested that the direction of the induced current is always such as to oppose the action that produced it. As we know Faraday's law as given by equation (ii.1) is one of the two basic relationships upon which the whole theory of electromagnetic and electromechanical energy conversion devices are based and today we have the generator and motor (electric) operating based on this theory. Also, Faraday was the first to identify emf of self-induction, i.e., here we have only one coil and it is connected to a de source through a switch. When current is flowin...

Emf Induced in a Rotating Coil placed in a Magnetic Field | Emf Induced | Magnetic Circuit

EMF Induced in a Rotating Coil Placed in a Magnetic Field :  👉 Consider a coil AB placed on the outer periphery of a soft iron solid cylindrical rotor. The stator poles  carry the exciting coils. When current flows through exciting coils flux is set up as shown in Fig. 1.  The rotor is rotating in the clockwise direction at a constant angular velocity of Z radians/sec. The  direction of the linear velocity (perpendicular to the plane of the coil) acting on conductor A is shown in Fig. 1 which makes an angle T with the direction of the field. The component of velocity perpendicular to  the field is v p  = v sin T .                                                                      FIG: 1 The emf induced in conductor A , e = Blv sin T Where, B = f...

Types of Network Element | Active and Passive Network | linear and Non-linear Network | Circuit elements

In this article, we will discuss what are the basic network elements and types of network elements.   Types of network elements We can classify the Network elements into various types based on some parameters. Following are the types of network elements −  Active Elements and Passive Elements    Linear Elements and Non-linear Elements   Bilateral Elements and Unilateral Elements    Lumped Elements and Distributed Elements Active Elements and Passive Elements  Active or passive based on the ability to deliver power. Active Elements deliver power to other elements, which are present in an electric circuit. Sometimes, they may absorb the power like passive elements. That means active elements have the capability of both delivering and absorbing power. Examples: Voltage sources and current sources.   Passive Elements can’t deliver power (energy) to other elements, however, they can absorb power. That means these elements eith...
